New Year

Happy 2019!

Wow, Happy 2019!!!

The last few months of 2018 were jam packed with teaching, beginning new workshops, getting to know familiar and new movers; as well as much needed family time in the UK and US.

It’s been a while — but with taking a break from constantly updating social media and generally having less screen time, I can’t help but to feel like I have so much more to share!

As I sit here alone in silence for the first time in a while, I’m now able to collect my thoughts and pick up The Movement Blog once again. I have two interviews that are just about ready to release from two people I’m so lucky to have in my life:

One is with from Teresa Fabião, a Portuguese Dancer and PhD graduate who tells us her story of her life as a – mover – turned academic – turned mover – again. We also speak heavily on her eye opening experiences from her travels to Brazil for research and the interesting truths between people, dance, and politics.

And the second is with Domini Anne, a Californian Dancer, Artist, and Gyrotonic Master Trainer. We spent a good time delving into the importance of opening the Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis methods online by writing, talking, and using video. How can we continue to help others understand these methods better?

There will also be some exciting updates and news from the online group I help manage, Wellbeing Ladies Lisbon. We are preparing for our first festival-like Wellbeing Weekend plus more monthly Meetups of course! Join the group if you’d like to be involved with this special community.

Private Gyrotonic and Group Gyrokinesis classes have commenced at both Equilibrium and Little Yoga Space. Check out The Movement Blog’s Facebook Page for scheduling and updates. There will also be more workshops to be announced as well! Feel free to contact me at any point.

Lastly, don’t think Rob and I forgot about our FitBit giveaway! Thank you to those who participated in our massive 2018 Dance Census We’ve gathered some interesting data during the year. Looking forward to sharing all the insights and picking our lucky winner.

That’s it for now. Stay tuned for more!

Much love,
