Why a #GYROKINESIS® Retreat? ✨ Coming up! 2n Why a #GYROKINESIS® Retreat? ✨ Coming up! 2nd - 6th November @les_terres_de_gaia_gers Gers, France Early Bird Offer until 12 September I thought about this a lot as the name itself is not as common as Yoga, however GYROKINESIS®, like Yoga, can provide many sides to guiding our both our mind and body energetically and physically to our greatest potential. In this wellbeing week that I’m offering with my colleague Babsie Steger (nutritional chef and wellbeing coach), is about fully immersing ourselves in the the GYROKINESIS® method, having good clean organic food, being in nature, and have the space to ultimately relax. The combination of movement, eating well, and being surrounded in nature in a small group always has its benefits - so why not with the Gyrokinesis method? I’m very much looking forward to presenting and investigating this method work in this light and getting to know the movers who will come along for this experience. The @iyashi_dome was founded by Shogoro Uemura, who wanted to re-create the ancient method of Suna Ryoho in a modern setting. In the ancient Suna Ryoho practice, people bury themselves in the hot sand – which has been warmed up by the sun and the underground hot springs – to induce sweating. Have you been complaining about back pain, neck st Have you been complaining about back pain, neck stiffness, shallow breathing, general fatigue, and/or generally want to improve your exercise quality? ❤️ If so, I really would like to encourage those struggling with this to try the #GYROTONIC® and/or #GYROKINESIS® method as it allows the mover to mobilize and lengthen hard to reach areas that causes discomfort. All muscles and attachments that run up and down the spine, around the pelvis, down through the legs and feet, and all the way up to the top of the head are all interwoven to create an entire network that has to work together efficiently for the body to function properly. Learning how to view the body as a whole system is an incredibly exciting and knowledgeable experience. What is the #GYROKINESIS® Method? Gyro– |ˈdʒ What is the #GYROKINESIS® Method? Gyro– |ˈdʒʌɪrəʊ| relating to rotation kinesis– |kɪˈniːsɪs| movement; motion This method is the precursor to the GYROTONIC® Method. Originally created by Juliu Horvath to adhere his dance injuries AKA ‘Yoga for Dancers’ in the 1980’s. It then developed even further to the GYROKINESIS® Method. Classes often begin on a stool with spinal mobilizations or self-massage, focusing on alignment within movement. The student learns basic principles such as narrowing the pelvis and the arch and curl to create expansive full-bodied movements, while creating space in the joints. Who is it for? For those wanting to take their dance and/or fitness practice to the next level, find release in tight/ overused muscles, strengthen weaker/ less used areas, enhance body awareness…the list could go on. Self-Massage with the #GYROKINESIS® Method 💆🏽‍♀️ In my next two workshops, we will begin with a self-massage sequence (a.k.a awakening of the senses) to warm up and prepare the body. We’re not only awakening the muscles, but also the tissues, fascia, blood flow, and nervous system - from the head to the toes.
